Can I add photos ahead of time if I'm giving Aura as a gift?

Aura is a great gift for any occasion. Each Aura frame is packaged in a beautiful gift box without any pricing information, so you can send your order directly to the gift recipient - no gift wrap or gift receipt required. We've made it easy to set up Aura in a variety of situations, depending on what works best for you and your family. Read on to learn how you can set up Aura ahead of time for someone special.

Option 1. Aura Gift Setup

Aura Gift Setup is available for frames purchased through auraframes.comAdd a personalized message, select photos, and invite family and friends to join the frame before it's even set up. You do not need to take the frame out of its gift box to set it up as a gift.

This solution is ideal if you plan to ship Aura directly to the recipient's address and wish to add photos ahead of time for a personalized surprise.

Option 2. Remote WiFi Setup

During regular frame setup, you have the option to enter a WiFi network name and password which are different from the WiFi network you are currently connected to. You will need to take the frame out of the box and follow the setup instructions using the Aura app, which requires a smartphone and WiFi connection. After you enter the WiFi information, you can go ahead and unplug the frame and put it back in its box. The next time the frame is plugged in, it will automatically connect to the new WiFI network - no smartphone or app required.

This option is wonderful for grandparents or people who do not have a smartphone or would have a tough time setting up the frame on their own. Aura will just turn on and magically start displaying photos.

You will need:

  • A smartphone or tablet with the Aura app (works on both iOS and Android).
  • WiFi network connection to set up the frame.
  • Know the recipient's home WiFi network network name and password. Triple check to make sure you have the correct WiFi credentials (case-sensitive).
