What is the Captions feature?
The Captions feature lets you add text and emojis to photos and videos on your Aura frame, allowing you to personalize them. You can edit or remove captions at any time.
| When adding captions to a photo or video, you will be given the option to add the caption on the currently selected frame only, OR to all frames in your Aura network where the captioned photo appears. |
Are captions available on both iOS and Android?
Yes! The free captions feature is available for both iOS and Android users. Please ensure that your Aura app has the latest version installed from the App Store / Google Play Store.
Who can add a caption?
Any frame member using the Aura app can add, edit, or remove a caption.
Which frames support captions?
Captions will only appear on Aura Frame models with a touch bar.
How to Add, Edit, or Remove a Caption to a Photo or Video Clip
To add a caption:
- Open the Aura app.
- Click on any photo in the "Photos" tab.
- Tap the caption section below the image and enter your caption.
- Tap "Save"
- Choose if you want the caption to appear on the selected frame or on all frames where the photo appears.
- The caption will now display on the selected frame(s) next time the photo or video is displayed in the frame's slideshow
| Note: The captions feature will only work on active frames - captions can not be added to 'virtual' gift frames (See: Gifting a Frame: Overview & Preparation) |
To edit or remove a caption:
- From the Photos tab, click on the photo again.
- Tap the caption to edit the text or select "Clear" or “Delete” to remove it.
- If editing, click "Save" to update the caption. If cleared or deleted, the caption will be permanently removed.
When will the caption appear on the frame?
For newly set up frames, captions may take 48 to 72 hours to appear, as your frame will automatically update its software during this time.
Once your frame is up to date, the caption will be displayed the next time the photo appears on the frame. If you want to see the caption sooner, you can use "Show Now" to force the photo to display on the frame. This should be immediate. If not, please try again and allow up to 10 minutes.
Please note: To ensure your captions are saved and appear correctly:
Wait until the photo has fully uploaded to Aura’s cloud server before adding a caption.
If the photo has a crossed-out eyeball icon (not uploaded or not in slideshow), its caption won’t be saved.
Can I change the font style, size, or color?
Currently, font customization options such as color, size, or font type are unavailable. Captions will appear in a clear, standard format for easy readability.
