By default, your frame automatically adjusts to the brightness in the room, turning off when it's dark and on when it senses light. This setting is called "Auto" On/Off.
To override this feature, you can schedule your frame to turn on and off at the same time everyday. You can also use the Touch Bar to manually turn it off, or simply pull the plug out of the back of the frame, since this will neither damage your frame nor lose any of your files.
How to set a schedule for your frame:
-
Open the Aura app to view your home screen.
-
Tap onto the frame in which you would like to set a schedule.
-
Tap the "Settings" icon on the top right (1).
-
Scroll to where you see Device and tap on the selected "On/Off" option (2).
-
Simply tap on "Schedule" if you want to set fixed times for the frame to turn on and off:
-
Once you have selected "Schedule" (1) you can then tap on "Display On" (2) to input the frame's wake-up time (3) and on "Display Off" (4) to select its sleep time. Tap on settings (5) to save your choice and to return to the main menu.
How to manually turn off your frame:
If your frame model comes with a Touch Bar you can use it to manually turn your frame off. This article explains how you can do this and also includes a demonstration video.
Finally, you can also unplug your frame from the electrical outlet. This will not have any effect on your photos or your settings and once you plug in your frame again, it will continue to display your photos. Since we do occasionally send frame software updates, we do recommend you leave your frame turned on, but if you miss a frame update, that will also catch up once your frame is powered back on for a while.
