We regularly update our iOS and Android 'Aura Frames' apps as well as the physical frame's firmware to continuously improve our products' functionality and reliability.
App Updates (iOS/Android)
Aura regularly updates our Aura Frames apps for Android, iOS, and iPadOS. These updates usually contain bug fixes, and also sometimes contain new features. Depending on your smart device settings, your device will either automatically detect and update the new app version or you'll have to manually find - and update - the latest app version in the Apple / Google Play App Store.
The App Store is also the place where you will find the release notes that cover the most important changes that are introduced with the app version.
Frame Updates (Firmware)
We occasionally update the software on your frames to fix bugs, apply security patches and to generally improve the functionality.
These 'over-the-air' (OTA) updates are broadcast via the internet connection and apply automatically, generally when the frame is in sleep mode (= connected to power and internet but the screen is turned off).
When you wake up the frame, you may find a message on the display, informing you that the frame is in the process of updating the firmware. Simply wait until the frame has restarted.
