Aura Frames are WiFi cloud connected frames, which means they require a constant WiFi connection to the internet and an electrical power connection to display the photos. The exact data and electricity consumption depends on the individual frame usage, however we can provide some estimates on Data and Electricity Consumption below:
Data Consumption
On average, a frame will use approximately 50MB download data per day (this is a generous average, taking into account approximately 20 photos which are 2MB each + overhead). Occasionally we send out system updates, which can consume an additional 50-350MB, so in total the usage could total a few GB a month.
Note: to avoid any concerns over data fees we recommend you use WiFi rather than a mobile data plan. |
Electricity Consumption
The frame's hourly power consumption is 10 watts while it is awake, and 2 watts while it is asleep. In order to reduce energy consumption, Aura will automatically go to sleep (= low-power mode with the display being turned off) when you turn off the lights or when you have set a schedule.
